We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and advise you on income tax matters. Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) imposes penalties upon taxpayers, and upon us, tax return preparers, for failure to observe due care in reporting on your income tax returns. In order to ensure an understanding of our mutual responsibilities, we ask all clients for whom we prepare tax returns to confirm the following arrangements. We will prepare your personal income tax return based on information that you provide to us. We will not audit or otherwise verify the data you submit, although we may ask you for clarification of some of the information. It is our responsibility to prepare your tax return correctly according to the law and the information that you have provided. It is your responsibility to provide us with all the information required to prepare complete and accurate returns. You should retain all the documents, cancelled cheques and other data that form the basis of your income and deductions. These may be necessary to prove the accuracy and completeness of the return to CRA. You have the final responsibility for the income tax return and, therefore, you should review it carefully before you sign it. · Satisfaction: If you are not pleased with the service you receive in the preparation of your tax returns or the time it takes us to complete them, you may choose not to file them through our company. All documents which you have provided to us will be returned to you and no fees will be charged. However, if receipt compilation or bookkeeping work has been provided we will expect to be paid for these services before returning your documents. · Refund: If you discover after filing that we overlooked something that could have resulted in a larger refund or smaller tax liability, we will prepare the necessary adjustment free of charge and refund your tax preparation fees. · Accuracy: Thorough employee training and double-checking of every return before filing safeguards the accuracy of your return. However, if we make an error that is not corrected before filing, we will reimburse you any penalties and interest incurred. In some cases we may refund the actual tax liability incurred up to $1000.00. · Assistance: CRA may select your return for review. Often they request copies of your receipts and other times they may require a full audit. As your representative we will provide the requested information to CRA on your behalf. Any adjustments proposed by CRA are subject to certain rights of appeal. In the event of such tax examinations, we will be available upon request to represent you as an advisor, not a legal representative. · Privacy: The business has implemented a Privacy Policy in accordance with the Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act. Client confidentiality is as important to us as it is to you, the client.
At 1st Choice Income Tax Service, we respect and value your personal privacy and information.
